Workshop Season is Back!
Model Classroom Development with Dr. Combs
Many schools are seeing the need to place nonfiction writing at the center of teaching and learning in and out of their Language Arts classes. This emphasis on frequent writing has posted significant gains in student performance on EOG, EOC, SLO, GMAS and Pathways assessments.
Join us this summer! Then help your school post gains on constructed and extended responses to paired texts selected responses to course standards.
Mastering responses to texts in three writing genres
In 3 days of professional development, participants learn to integrate target writing strategies that impact student performance on end-of- year and end-of- course tests like Georgia Milestones. They leave with instructional strategies and student-friendly rubrics for scoring constructed and extended writing.
Attendees will learn to
- Reinforce the writing process in narrative, informational and opinion/argument genres
- Extend students’ depth of knowledge of foundational standards of ELA, science, and social studies
- Identify, recognize, and post student exemplars of distinctive writing
